Session Title - Why Scrum Fails

Non-Coding Technical Track - Agile

3:40PM - 4:40PM at the 4th Floor, Bonifacio Hall B

This talk is borne of the speaker's experience in running real-world projects as a CEO of a software development firm, as well as the experience of other organizations that the speaker has encountered in his 13 years as an Agile trainer and coach. A lot of teams have chosen to adopt Agile, with the intention of improving their productivity. They pick Scrum as their Agile methodology, since it's the most popular methodology (many people don't even know that there are other Agile methodologies). However, many still find that they have as problems as they had before, without the productivity gains they were expecting. This talk will discuss the common pitfalls Scrum teams encounter, the strengths and limitations of Scrum, and what can be done to have a more complete software development process that addresses real-world realities.
