Session Title - Doing Retrospectives in a Cross-Cultural Team

Non-Coding Technical Track - Agile

11:00AM - 12:00PM at 4th Floor, Bonifacio Hall B

Mono-cultural teams are becoming a thing of the past. As we become more global, the rate at which we see teams working with people outside their home countries are rising and rising. Agile teaches us to try and learn from our mistakes and be better in the next round. and Retrospectives are one of the important practices that try and promote this. However, it can come with a heavy price. Teams who are new will have a hard time doing open conversations with people they dont trust yet. And then there are cultures where open confrontations are considered rude. This is a real dilemma especially in the Asia setting. How do you benefit from what retrospectives can teach and not be disrespectful?
